FC Hawks Soccer Club: Committed to creating exemplary soccer players on and off the field

Fc Stars

Based in the northern suburbs of Chicago, IL and affiliated with FC Hawks, FC Stars is an advanced soccer academy that offers players a highly progressive and complete developmental training program. Stars focuses on building positive team culture and fostering a growth environment that is built on years of experience and a proven methodology.  It is designed for dedicated and talented players who wish to play at the highest levels in the area.

Currently, Stars plays in the National Premier League, Midwest Conference League and the Premiership in the Northern Illinois Soccer League.

In Spring 2021, talented and dedicated high school aged players from the Hawks and other schools competed on the same team in the highest level in the state of Illinois.  We named the team FC Stars.   The word is out and we are seeing amazing responses from high level players around the area. What are the FCo Stars?
Affiliated with FC Hawks, FC Stars is an advanced soccer academy open to anyone regardless of where they used to play.  Its goal is to achieve a state championship and then a national championship.  We are aiming very high.
Why Create a New Name for the Team?
We really did not want to change.  FC Hawks love its name.   However, several talented players were reluctant to join us because they thought we were part of Maine South.  Given our record of success and the pedigree of our coaching staff, we have had interest from talented players from Glenbrook North, Glenbrook South, Wheeling, Evanston, New Trier, Mundelein, Niles West Maine East as well as Maine South.  Unfortunately, changing the name was the only way we could find to attract the highest level of players.  By the way, it is not uncommon for a club to change the name of its high school level teams.
Who Can Play for the Stars?
Anybody with the drive and ability to compete at the highest level.  We ask everyone from the Hawks and elsewhere to see if they have what it takes to compete for state and national championships.

How Much Does it Cost to Play for the Stars?
FC Stars was created as a direct response to skyrocketing costs of academy level soccer.  The fees are slightly more than FC Hawks but that is due to the expenses of the leagues, officials and facilities.  If you compare what you get from FC Stars to the teams it competes against, you will find an amazing value.  Our philosophy is to never let finances prevent a dedicated and talented player from competing.  We work with everyone to make sure they can reach for the Stars.
Who is Coaching the Stars?
The same excellent staff that works with the Hawks.  This includes our A licensed Director of Coaching and Academy Director Edin Sejdinovic.  The Stars are trained by top licensed coaches including Vlado Zadro-Cema a former UEFA Champions League player and Tamara Bojat who played in the Women’s champions league.  The keepers are trained by B1 GK academy and lead man Alexandar Saric who was the goalkeeping coach for the team that won the U-20 world cup.  He was also goalkeeping coach for the Chicago Fire.
When do the Stars Play?
The Stars play a similar schedule to other travel teams.  However, they tend to have more weekday games which allow for more weekend showcase tournaments.
Can You Play for FC Hawks and the Stars?
Yes.  The purpose of an academy style club is to promote hard working players.  If you raise your game to that level, you might get the call to come up. Other players can be rostered on both.  The reason why we make this so complicated on ourselves is because we are about development.  If a player may not get a lot of playing time on the very high level Stars team, he/she will get it at the appropriate level with the Hawks.  We are all about allowing those players the drive to compete.
